Individual Counseling

Individual counseling, also referred to as psychotherapy, is a form of talk therapy in which patients meet with a trained mental health clinician one-on-one to discuss current challenges. The therapist provides a non-judgmental environment in which the patient can engage in exploration and problem-solving. Ability to verbalize feelings and discuss symptomology as well as willingness to work towards self-expressed goals typically lead to successful therapy outcomes. Individual counseling goals include symptom alleviation and improved overall functioning.

After assessing current symptomology and behavioral challenges, you will work with your clinician to develop a treatment plan which will include sustainable strategies and goals you hope to achieve over the course of therapy. Treatment length varies per patient while session duration is generally 45 minutes. Most patients begin treatment attending sessions weekly and gradually reducing to every other week and sometimes monthly as goals are achieved.
